Seeded No. 6 at the ATP tournament in Belgrade, Fabio Fognini easily advanced to the round of 16 at the expense of Aljaz Bedene. Aslan Karatsev, meanwhile, lost to Oscar Otta.

Unlike Novak Djokovic this Wednesday, Fabio Fognini was easily invited to the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Belgrade.. The No. 6 Italian took only two sets to defeat Aljaz Bedene. Broken from the start, the world No. 62 was able to immediately reverse the trend and score the first set after a streak of six wins in a row before emerging victorious from a streak of three lost games in a row. Then Fabio Fognini scored his second match point (6-2, 6-3 in 1:26). His rival for a place in the top four will be Oscar Otte. The German, 70th in the world, had the final say against No. 4 seeded Aslan Karatsev. After losing the first set in a tiebreak, Oskar Otte raised his voice to easily fall back to one set everywhere. The only break at the very last moment allowed him to confirm his ticket to the 1/8 finals (6-7, 6-1, 6-3 in 2:21).
